Conquest Panic Farming Guide!
Who aaaaare all these units? And why are they assaulted?!? - Jerry Seinfeld, I imagine
There’s a new conquest cycle starting up and the reward is SM-33! A fun droid from the Skeleton Crew tv series (if you haven’t seen it yet, think of it like Goonies meets Star Wars with a dash of Explorers tossed in for good measure). But if you want this swashbuckling droid (and, I assume, the tiny rat thing that lives in his eye), you’re going to need to complete gold or red crate in conquest. And for that, you need…
Characters.
So who is needed? How much are they needed? And should you panic farm them???
I’m going to answer at least two of those questions RIGHT. NOW. Okay now. Okay maybe in a few seconds. Look I already answered them but you just haven’t read that far yet. Cut me some slack!
Characters by burrito value (for the uninitiated, burritos = conquest tickets):
2 Burritos: Fives, Omega (F)
3 Burritos: Baby Cal, Hunter (M), DRey, Lord Vader (ha), GLAT (hahahahaha)
4 Burritos: Jocasta, Enoch
5 Burritos: BB8 (needed for sector 1’s Secret Intel feat), CX-2 (needed for sector 2’s “win with 3 DS Clones” feat - along with Appo and Disguised Trooper aka DisGuy, see below - since only 3 DS clones will exist at the time of this new conquest’s launch), Baylan, Crosshair (S). You also need a full spectre team for a combined 5 burritos, meaning GenSyn, Padiwren, Chopper, and ATF all fit this category. Huyang has his own specific callout later, so he’s worth more (see below).
7 Burritos: Appo. Needed for both sector 2’s “win with 3 DS clones” feat, and his own miniboss feat.
8 Burritos: Huyang (assuming most people don’t have GLAT or Ezile, Huyang is needed for the sector 1 20 wins with spectre feat, as well as his own “win with” boss feat)
10 Burritos: Batcher (15 wins in sector 4)
13 Burritos: Darth Vader (15 wins in sector 3, win with LV vs sector 4 midboss)
20 Burritos: One of Appo, CX-2, or DisGuy is needed to apply Order 66 ten times in sector 5. This is a tricky feat, but one I think everyone will be able to do, in one way or another. Each unit has their own drawbacks. Appo needs a zeta on “no witnesses” AND needs LV to be the leader. CX-2 needs a zeta on “Focused and Determined” (and needs to hit the same target 3 times in a row). And DisGuy needs all of his allies to be dark side clone troopers, LV, or Tarkin, and his target needs to be stunned or ability blocked when he basics (an earlier version of this guide did not recognize that restriction on DisGuy - apologies for that). As such, while DisGuy is the most affordable option (since no zeta is required), it’s also very hard to pull off a team that is just LV, Tarkin, DS clones, and ability blocks or stuns often enough for DisGuy to land Order 66 consistently. So I think this is a feat that should earn a zeta on CX-2. He doesn’t require any other empire allies for this to work, so you can slot him into a DCS cheese team (JKL / GMY / Hoda / Malak / CX-2, use voluntary vanguard or, if VV isn’t available, use GK as the tank) and you *should* be able to get CX-2 unlimited attacks in a single combat for all 10 applications. If you’re not familiar with how DCS cheese teams work, check out my guide to common conquest cheese teams, linked in my conquest hub.
Remember that you can safely skip 34 burritos and still get the red crate, or skip 134 and get gold. BOTH crates make it possible to get SM-33 without spending any money.
So first let’s deal with the elephants in the room. No one is panic farming LV or GLAT. You either have them or you don’t. And they’re each worth 3 burritos. Most people also won’t have Jocasta (4 burritos) or DRey (3) or Baylan (5). So that’s 18 burritos right out of the gate that most people simply can’t get.
I strongly believe the “20 wins with spectre” feat in sector 1 is bullshit, so that’s 5 more burritos. Could you just farm the bonus nodes at the end for datacron crap? Sure. This isn’t a hard feat if you have the team geared already on your way to GLAT. But if you don’t, this is a kyro-intensive team of which 4 are fairly new characters. I don’t think 5 burritos is worth the gear dump.
This puts us at 23 burritos of unavoidable bullshit. We can afford to skip just 11 more.
Now, I know I just said don’t gear Huyang (and I mean that), but he does have a specific callout for a miniboss fight. That’s fine. Cheese it with a powerful unit that can carry him. 3 star G8 is fine for most cheese.
For the final 11, I suggest skipping the 15 wins with Batcher in sector 4. Yes, batcher could double up with the global for bad batch wins, and if you have her geared… great. But 15 wins is a steep order for a specific character that most people won’t have full cooked.
That leaves us with a 1 star cushion, just in case we don’t 3 star every single combat.
Of course these are just my suggestions - there’s no requirement for you to follow any of this. BUT if you do follow it, this means you’ll need the following characters to be relatively servicable:
Disguised Trooper. Probably needs to be higher than 3 star G8 since you need him to apply Order 66. I’d take him all the way to G11. If you whaled for 7 stars, get him to relics. No point wasting that whale blubber!
Appo. You need to get a kill with him during a miniboss fight, so higher gear than g8 is recommended. If you have LV unlocked, then Appo can also get you Order 66 applications and I see no reason to hold back on his gear.
One of: Huyang, PadiWren, or ATF. You need a kill with a spectre attacker. It’s likely most people have ATF already at decent gear (G12 or higher), but if you don’t, I recommend PadiWren over ATF over Huyang for this feat.
Surprisingly, that’s all you need as far as “better than min spec” gear requirements. You will want the following characters at a “carry-able” size (which I consider 3 star, G8 to be):
Fives, Omega (F), Hunter (M), Crosshair (S), Baby Cal, Enoch, BB8, Huyang, CX-2
And that’s it. This is not a terrible Conquest in terms of hard requirements. You’ll want 1 serviceable bad batch team, some Light Side UFUs, and various other semi-flexible squads, too, but… yeah, not too bad. I guess you’ll also need at least one team comp capable of carrying the 3 DS clones, which means SLKR / KRU or LV / an empire or DS UFU tank.
Watch for my conquest guide coming the same day as conquest launches.
Cheers,
